What are the safety issues associated with scaffolding

First, the following potential hazards may exist with scaffolding:
1. Scaffolding construction plans were not prepared or approved promptly, and safety briefings were not signed off on by every worker.
2. Workers are working without licenses, without safety belts, helmets, or non-slip shoes;
3. Steel pipes and couplers are of substandard material; channel steel is used for cantilever scaffolding; steel cantilever beams are not secured with wire ropes.
4. Scaffolding lacks dense mesh netting, or the protection is inadequate; horizontal netting is missing, or not properly installed;
5. The spacing between vertical and horizontal uprights is too large, not meeting the plan requirements; uprights are lapped and extended, and the joints are located within the same horizontal section.
6. The lower part of the scaffolding lacks ground bracing, or the ground bracing is not installed correctly; the number of horizontal bars is insufficient, and the fixing positions of the horizontal bars are incorrect.
7. The number of wall ties is insufficient; scissor bracing is not installed, or the scissor bracing is not installed correctly; members and couplers are removed without authorization.
8. The bottom and construction layers are not fully covered with scaffold boards.

Secondly, the following accidents may occur with scaffolding:
1. Falls from height may occur.
2. Falling objects may strike.
3. The scaffolding may overturn.

Third, risk control measures for scaffolding:
1. Scaffolding construction plans should be prepared and approved promptly, and safety technical briefings should be signed by each worker.
2. Workers must be certified and wear safety belts, safety helmets, and non-slip shoes;
3. Qualified products should be used for steel pipes and couplers. Channel steel is strictly prohibited for cantilever scaffolding, and steel wire ropes should be used for steel cantilever beams.
4. Dense mesh netting should be tightly installed on the scaffolding, and horizontal netting protection should be complete and tightly installed.
5. The longitudinal and transverse spacing of uprights should be strictly set according to the plan requirements; overlapping or lengthening of uprights is strictly prohibited, as is setting them within the same horizontal plane.
6. The lower ground-level bracing and horizontal bars of the scaffolding should be erected strictly according to the plan;
7. All wall ties and scissor braces should be installed in sufficient quantity. Unauthorized removal of poles and couplers is strictly prohibited.
8. The bottom and construction layers of scaffold boards should be fully laid as required by the plan.
