Scaffolding is used outdoors most of the time. Due to the long construction period, the scaffolding is exposed to the sun, wind, and rain, and due to collisions, overload deformation, and other reasons, the scaffolding has broken rods, loose fasteners, sinking or skewing, etc., which cannot meet the normal requirements of construction. Therefore, timely maintenance and reinforcement are required to achieve firmness and stability to ensure the requirements of construction safety. If only the rods and binding materials are seriously damaged, they must be replaced and reinforced in time to ensure that the rack can meet the requirements of structural construction and use at every stage of the entire use process.
The materials for maintenance and reinforcement should be the same as the materials and specifications of the original rack. It is forbidden to mix steel and bamboo, and it is forbidden to mix fasteners, ropes, and bamboo strips. Maintenance and reinforcement are the same as erection, and safety operating procedures must be strictly followed.
All rods of steel pipe scaffolding should be rust-proofed and rust-proofed once every 1-2 years.
Use of scaffolding: After the frame is installed, strict inspection and acceptance should be carried out before use. After scaffolding is installed, the safety department and relevant personnel must conduct an inspection and acceptance inspection in accordance with these regulations. Only after confirmation of compliance can it be used. Pre-use and in-use inspections should include the following:
First, Pre-use Inspection of Scaffolding
1. Provide safety ladders and ramps for operators to ascend and descend.
2. Strictly control the construction loads of all types of scaffolding.
3. When multiple layers of work are being performed simultaneously on the scaffolding, reliable protective sheds should be installed between each workstation to prevent falling objects and workers. No one is allowed to dismantle or remove the scaffolding without authorization.
4. If any problems such as vertical poles sinking, hanging in the air, loose joints, scaffolding tilting, pole deformation, or ice formation on the scaffolding boards are found, use should be suspended until resolved.
5. In the event of strong winds, fog, heavy rain, or heavy snow exceeding level 6, scaffolding operations should be suspended. After rain or snow, anti-slip measures must be implemented during operations, and no problems must be checked before resuming work. 6. When painting exterior walls, it is strictly forbidden to cut tie bars at will. If new tie points are necessary, existing tie bars may only be cut if no safety hazards are present. (Note: Tie points must meet the 4 x 7 meter tie point requirement.)
Second, Regular Scaffolding Inspections
Regular Inspections:
(1) Inspections are organized by the company’s Safety Department on the 25th of each month.
(2) Weekly inspections organized by the project team, attended by the project manager, will include:
1. Scaffolder’s work permit;
2. Checking for rust or deformation on steel pipes;
3. Tightening of fasteners;
4. Scaffolding board coverage;
5. Presence of safety warning signs;
