How to Correctly Select Scaffolding for a Construction Project

1. Pay Attention to Scaffolding Accessories.
Completely assembled scaffolding occupies a large area, so it’s usually sold in pre-packaged, unpacked parts. Missing any accessory will prevent proper erection; for example, missing the connecting coupler between two uprights will prevent the main structure from being erected. Therefore, when purchasing, check that all accessories are included in the set, referring to the provided accessories list.

2. Consider the Overall Scaffolding Design.
Scaffolding is used to lift heavy objects or people to a designated height, requiring sufficient load-bearing capacity. From a mechanical perspective, the overall design and connections of the scaffolding demonstrate its load-bearing capacity. Therefore, when selecting scaffolding, consider its overall design to ensure it has adequate load-bearing capacity.

3. Observing the Surface Material and Appearance of Scaffolding.

Scaffolding is usually made of steel pipes. Newly manufactured scaffolding has a uniform glaze color and good flatness and smoothness. Visually, it should be free of cracks, delamination, and misalignment. You should be able to feel no burrs or indentations when running your hand from top to bottom. Such scaffolding is worth choosing. If you are choosing second-hand scaffolding, carefully observe whether the rust and bending on the surface of the old steel pipes are still within usable limits. If the surface material of the scaffolding is qualified and there are no obvious defects in appearance, or defects that do not affect its use, it is worth considering purchasing.
