Do you know the requirements for scaffolding erection

Scaffolding is a working platform erected to ensure the smooth progress of various construction processes. It is classified according to its location as external scaffolding and internal scaffolding; according to materials as wooden scaffolding, bamboo scaffolding, and steel pipe scaffolding; and according to its structural form as pole-type scaffolding, bridge-type scaffolding, frame-type scaffolding, suspended scaffolding, hanging scaffolding, cantilevered scaffolding, and climbing scaffolding.

The requirements for erecting high-rise scaffolding are as follows:

1. All materials used in erecting high-rise scaffolding must meet quality requirements.

2. The foundation of high-rise scaffolding must be solid. Calculations must be performed before erection to meet load requirements, and it must be erected according to construction specifications, with proper drainage measures.

3. The technical requirements for scaffolding erection should comply with relevant specifications.

4. High importance must be attached to various structural measures: scissor bracing, tie points, etc., must be set up as required.

5. Horizontal Enclosure: Starting from the first step, scaffold boards or safety netting should be fully laid every one or two steps. Scaffold boards should be laid lengthwise, with joints overlapping and resting on horizontal bars; gaps in the boards are strictly prohibited. A continuous safety netting should be laid every four steps between the inner uprights and the wall.

6. Vertical Enclosure: From the second to the fifth step, each step must have a 1.00m high protective railing and toe board or safety netting installed on the inside of the outer row of uprights. The protective railing (netting) must be securely fastened to the uprights. Above the fifth step, in addition to the protective railing, all sections should be equipped with safety netting. In areas along streets or in densely populated residential areas, safety netting should be installed on the entire outer side starting from the second step.

7. Scaffolding should be erected at least 1.5m above the top of the building or the working surface, and additional protective measures should be provided.

8. Steel pipes, couplers, scaffold boards, and connection points on the erected scaffolding must not be arbitrarily removed.

9. During construction, if necessary, the site supervisor’s approval must be obtained, and effective measures must be taken. Scaffolding must be restored immediately after the completion of each work step.

10. Before use, the site supervisor should organize an inspection and acceptance process. Scaffolding can only be used after passing the inspection and completing a handover form. During construction, professional management, inspection, and maintenance should be implemented, and settlement should be observed regularly. If any abnormalities are found, reinforcement measures should be taken promptly.

11. When dismantling scaffolding, the connection to the building should be checked first, and all remaining materials and debris on the scaffolding should be removed. Dismantling should proceed from top to bottom, following the order of installation first and dismantling last. Dismantled materials should be passed down or hoisted to the ground, clearing away debris step by step. Step-by-step dismantling is prohibited, and throwing or pushing/pulling methods are strictly forbidden.

12. A warning zone should be set up, and a designated person should be assigned to guard the area during scaffolding erection and dismantling. Scaffolding erection and dismantling work should be suspended in winds exceeding level six or in severe weather.

12. Foundation Requirements: If the foundation is uneven, use sturdy scaffolding to achieve balance. The foundation must be able to withstand the pressure from the scaffolding and work.

13. Workers must wear safety belts during erection and work at heights. Safety nets must be installed around the work area to prevent falling objects from injuring others.

14. Scaffolding components and accessories must not be subjected to severe drops or impacts during transportation and storage. During erection and dismantling, throwing from heights is strictly prohibited. Dismantling should be carried out sequentially from top to bottom.

15. Pay attention to safety during use. Horseplay and other roughhousing on the scaffolding are strictly prohibited to prevent accidents.

16. Work is important, but safety and life are even more important. Please remember the above points.
