Four hidden dangers of steel scaffolding

1) Scaffolding lacks sweeping poles

Hidden hazards: Incomplete structure of the frame and the instability of individual poles affects the overall stability. According to relevant standards (Article 6.3.2 of JGJ130-2011), the scaffold must be equipped with vertical and horizontal sweeping poles. The vertical sweeping pole should be fixed on the pole not more than 200mm away from the bottom end of the steel pipe with right-angle fasteners. The horizontal sweeping pole should be fixed on the vertical pole immediately below the vertical sweeping pole with right-angle fasteners.

2) The scaffold pole is suspended in the air

Hidden dangers: It is easy to cause the frame to be unstable, unbalanced in strength, and collapse. Related standards (JGJ130-2011 Article 8.2.3) Requirements: Scaffolding is in use. There should be no water in the foundation, no looseness in the base, and no dangling poles.

3) The butt joints of longitudinal horizontal rods and vertical rods are synchronized or within the same span

Hidden hazards: causing uneven force on the scaffold, affecting stability. Related standards (Article 6.3.6 of JGJ130-2011) requirements: two adjacent longitudinal horizontal rod joints should not be arranged in synchronization or the same span; two adjacent joints that are not synchronized or different spans are not staggered in the horizontal direction. Less than 500mm; the distance from the center of each joint to the nearest main node should not be greater than 1/3 of the longitudinal distance (JGJ130-2011 Article 6.2.1); two adjacent pole joints should not be arranged in the synchronization, and the synchronization should be separated by one. The distance between two adjacent joints of the rod in the height direction should not be less than 500mm; the distance from the center of each joint to the nearest main node should not be greater than 1/3 of the step distance.

4) Irregular installation of wall fittings

Hidden danger hazard: reduce the ability of scaffolding to resist overturning. Relevant standards (JGJ130-2011 Article 6.4) Requirements: It should be arranged close to the main node, and the distance away from the main node should not be greater than 300mm; it should be arranged from the first vertical horizontal rod on the ground floor; the connecting wall should be arranged horizontally when it cannot be horizontal The installation should be diagonally connected to one end of the scaffold; the two ends of the open-type scaffold must be equipped with connecting wall pieces, and the vertical distance between the connecting wall pieces should not be greater than the floor height of the building, and should not be greater than 4m; the double-height of 24 meters or more The row of scaffolding should be connected to the building with rigid connecting wall pieces; the spacing of connecting wall pieces can usually be arranged in three steps and three spans, two steps, and three spans, etc.
