Scaffolding is a platform constructed from steel pipes and corresponding fasteners, used for high-altitude construction work.
Scaffolding can be classified in many ways. According to materials, it can be divided into steel pipe scaffolding, wooden scaffolding, and bamboo scaffolding; according to the working location, it can be divided into internal scaffolding and external scaffolding; according to the fastening method, it can be divided into fastener-type, frame-type, cup-type, and pole-type scaffolding.
The type of scaffolding used needs to be selected based on the characteristics of the project. For example, fastener-type scaffolding is suitable for the main structure construction of buildings; cup-type scaffolding is suitable for bridge construction.
Characteristics of scaffolding structures: The load-bearing capacity is uneven, varying with worker activities; the stability of scaffolding joints, including connections to walls, varies and is greatly affected by factors such as the quality of fasteners and installation; high construction technical requirements are required.
Scaffolding serves as a mobile platform for high-altitude operations in construction projects. Therefore, the quality requirements for the materials used in scaffolding are high, and it must be installed according to strict procedures to ensure the safety of personnel during the erection and use of scaffolding.
