Structural characteristics of overhanging scaffolding

The entire load of the cantilevered scaffold is transmitted to the building structure through the cantilever structure. Therefore, the cantilever structure must have sufficient strength, rigidity, and stability, and be able to be reliably connected with the building structure to safely transfer the load of the scaffold to the building structure.

The building structure to which the cantilever is attached should be a reinforced concrete structure or a steel structure, and must not be attached to a brick-concrete structure or a stone structure. The support structure of the cantilever frame should be a cantilever beam or cantilever truss made of section steel, and steel pipes should not be used. The nodes shall be connected by bolts or welded, and shall not be connected by fasteners.

Cantilevered scaffolding is generally divided into single-layer cantilever and multi-layer cantilever. Single-layer cantilever scaffolding is to put the bottom of the vertical pole on the floor, beam or wall, and other building parts, and after it is inclined and fixed outwards, crossbars and scaffolding are laid on the upper part to form a construction layer. The construction is one story high. After entering the upper floor, re-install the scaffolding to provide construction of the upper floor.

Multi-layer cantilevered scaffolding is to divide the full-height scaffold into several sections, and the erection height of each section does not exceed 25m. Use cantilever beams or cantilever frames as the base of the scaffold. The scaffold can be erected in sections by using this method. Scaffolding over 50m.

According to the different structural forms of the cantilever structure, it can be divided into two types: inclined-stayed and under-supported. The diagonal pull type is to add a wire rope to the end of the profile steel cantilever beam that extends from the building structure, and the other end of the wire rope is fixed to the hoisting ring pre-buried in the building structure; the down support type is to add a diagonal rod under the end of the cantilever beam support.
